EPM Live Reporting Solution
(Release Candidate) |
EPM Live is very excited to introduce our Reporting Solution, which is currently in the Release Candidate stage and available now for your use. "Release Candidate" means that there may be a few minor bugs, however, we are fully supporting and patching any issues that customers may report. The final release for the EPM Live Reporting Solution will be made available in our 2010 release.
The EPM Live Reporting Solution provides a live link between EPM Live and SQL Server. SharePoint lists are mapped dynamically to SQL Server tables to facilitate SQL Reporting on SharePoint data. Once a list is mapped, any items that are added, updated or deleted are immediately reflected in the corresponding SQL table.
Additionally, you can schedule "snapshots" of your lists to be copied over to a snapshot table in SQL Server for historical/trending reporting and analysis.
Once Lists are set up to be mapped, SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 (or other Reporting tools) can be used to build reports . This simplifies the process for building custom reports, which will now be nearly limitless.

New Feature
|
| EPM Live Queuing Service |
EPM Live has initiated a Queuing Service, which runs all jobs through a Windows Service on the SharePoint Server, rather than using a SharePoint Timer Service. By using a Windows Service (Queue), performance is greatly improved. You may now also dedicate all services to run on one specific Job Server rather than all servers (like the Timer Jobs does).
This is mostly information for the Site Administrator(s), who will now be able to monitor the Jobs when ran through SharePoint Central Admin, and indicate how often to have the Queuing Service run. |
New Feature
|
| Agile Planner |
EPM Live now has a new planning tool called the Agile Planner. Use this tool to plan your work using Agile methodology. There is now an Agile Planner Settings page where you may configure the Agile Planner to meet your business needs. |
New Feature
|
| Site Permissions |
To accommodate organizations with larger Resource Pools, Project Managers may now grant permissions to users to their workspaces by browsing the Enterprise Level Resource Pool and using attributes to group, sort, and filter prior to adding users to their site. Then, the Project Publisher, Work Planner, and Agile Planner use the smaller subset of resources specific to the Workspace when assigning resources. This functionality allows the ability to quickly assign resources that have been pre-designated to your team, by not showing unnecessary resource names. |
New Feature
|
| Renaming Lists |
The Project Center, Task Center, and Resources (Resource Pool) Lists may be renamed. If renamed, the new list name will be used throughout the Site Collection's features and tools. This ability applies only to sites with schedules managed using the EPM Live Work Planner and/or Agile Planner only.
Important: Please note that if you are using the Project Publisher to manage projects in Microsoft Project or Project Server, this feature is not yet available. |
New Feature
|
| Editable Grid |
The EPM Live Editable Grid's performance has been greatly improved. Each user may now select which list data to edit in the editable grid, which results in faster loading time of and quicker access to the grid view of the list. This increased efficiency is especially evident in the Enterprise Roll Up Lists, such as My Work. |
